Japan’s Prince Akishino in Paraguay

Prince Akishino, second in line to Japan’s royal throne, is currently in Paraguay for a four-day goodwill tour. He visited schools, businesses and Japanese communities. His wife, Princess Kiko, who gave birth this September to Japan’s first new male heir in four decades, did not accompany him. During his tour, he met with the President of Paraguay Nicanor Duarte Frutos, visited a fish market, spent time with schoolchildren and laid a wreath at a memorial to the first Japanese immigrants in La Colmena, Paraguay.
