Prince Charles and Camilla in North East England
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were on a two-day tour of the North East of England. On the first day, they were in Newcastle visiting the 100-year-old Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle United’s home St James’ Park, and Stocksfield Avenue Primary School.
They were at St James’ Park on behalf of The Prince’s Trust Football Initiative, which aims to offer disadvantaged youngsters motivation and inspiration through behind-the-scenes tours and player appearances. They were presented with matching Newcastle United No 10 shirts with “HRH” on the back:

Prince Charles also got a chance to show off his skills on the field:

The school tour was for The Prince of Wales Arts and Kids Foundation, which encourages reading and story-telling for kids. After the tour, they spent time with the locals in Jarrow, South Tyneside for some afternoon tea and cake, as guests of the Toc H charity.
On the second day of their tour, the royal couple visited Northumberland, including the organic Dunterly Farm. (Prince Charles has an avid interest in organic farming, as evidenced in his own Duchy Home Farm.) Among the farm residents they met were “two cows called Charles and Camilla, so named because they were born a few days before The Prince and The Duchess married in April 2005.”
While in the rural areas, Their Royal Highnesses met craftsmen who are expert in traditional skills like the making of shepherd’s crooks and dry stone walling. They also stopped by the Holly Bush Inn, one of England’s most remote pubs, located in the village of Greenhaugh. Prince Charles got behind the bar and poured himself a pint of a locally-brewed ale:

[…] Prince Charles and Camilla were in their fair share of the news. They visited several places, including Pakistan. We saw quite a number of photos of them there, as well as a yak of a royal Gift. It was in Pakistan that Camilla made a controversial comment regarding British students. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall also visited North East England, including Rothbury. They attended a Gala to celebrate the work of The Prince’s Trust. During an Armistice Day Tribute, Prince Charles was caught on-camera looking asleep. Well, I’m not going to suggest that the Prince is getting on in years, but he did celebrate his 58th birthday this month. Finally, Prince Charles’ website got a nice update. We also got peeks at the residences of The Prince of Wales. […]
